"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and
honour and power: for thou hast created all
things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created". Rev. 4:11
Although we were looking for warm weather and
sandy beaches, our first few days at Sanibel were
cold and the beach was aligned with dead fish. We
had arrived during a "red tide" season. It was
heartbreaking to see such an unnatural sight of
dead sea life in a place that was suppose to
display beauty. Man has done a great job of
messing up the ecosystems.
Thankfully the weather warmed up and we found
beaches that appeared to be unaffected by the red
tide bloom. Sanibel and Captiva are great shelling
locations. As I walked along the shore gazing at all
the shells being deposited by the continuous motion
of the waves, I was blessed to behold the beauty in
the imagination of God. There were so many
different shapes, sizes, and colors of shells...their
design so intricate. This beautiful spot helped to
erase the vision of dead fish from the prior day. I
thanked God for the beauty in His creation and told
Him how sorry I was that mankind had destroyed so
much of it. It definitely made me long for the earth
made new, where we will be continually enthralled
with the imagination of God. Come Lord Jesus!
